Samsung Galaxy Ace plus is a entry level mid-range android phone from Samsung and this phone is the updated version for the popular Galaxy Ace series which was a hit in the mid-range segment, this phone comes with a updated 1 Ghz processor and a 3.65″ screen and android 2.3 and I have done a detailed review of this phone.

Sadly it is overpriced. It still has the older,crappy Adreno 200 GPU and 1300mAh battery is too low. No front facing camera is always an issue. All this at 16k is very overpriced. Sony Live with walkman & motorola defy+ provide better options

@DEVILTHEHELLRAISER Good question. I want to make one thing clear, games look and perform much better on pc if you have a good configuration. A good gaming rig can be built with around Rs50,000 or 1000$. But you can buy a ps3 or an xbox for about 200-300$. So if your budget is low but you want a nice gaming experience then go for a Ps3 or an Xbox.
@DEVILTHEHELLRAISER Microsoft or Sony have not confirmed any release of their next console so it is better to buy the current consoles available.

@DEVILTHEHELLRAISER: I personally prefer a gaming console rather than a PC…. coz I can just attach it to my big TV / Home theater and play sitting on the couch…. I hate sitting on the comp chair and do gaming….. on the other hand graphics on PC will be a tad better but again there are more issues with PC than consoles and IMHO on console its easier….. again check where ur friends online are….. the new PS / Xbox is going to come out only in mid or late 2013.

@amit2989yadav: The Galaxy S advance is not launched yet but its a dual core phone…… I would say its a budget version of the Galaxy S2…. the HTC Incredible S is a nice phone but IMHO now the hardware looks outdated for the pricing.I would personally wait for S advance coz of dual-core and SAMOLED screen.

Hi Ranjit ……I bought a samsung galaxy ace on 2nd march loaded with 2.3.6 all works fine but there is some problem …. sometimes when i am using the phone and anybody tries to call me it says number is switch off.but actually my phone is ON at that time and it shows n/w also….when i put my cell on flight mode and switch to normal mode it starts receiving calls and sms…….So I want to ask you that ….Problem is in my phone or in Network(vodafone)
I did not use the original Ace but before returning the handset as a faulty unit try and use another SIM card and see if it works fine with the same.

As I mentioned in the review for about 14K its a good buy check in the local mobile markets if u look hard enough u can get it for about 14.5K – 14.8K, I am not going to review the Wave 3 as its not a android phone but a Bada OS phone.

@Kartikay: It’s a nice phone in its price segment but I would say if u can slightly raise ur budget then the Sony Neo V is little better compared to this phone coz of higher resolution screen and camera but again its about 2-3K more than this phone.

This phone has 512MB of physical Ram but don’t u think the OS uses any RAM even in phones that have 1 GB RAM u get just about 650-700 odd MB of end usable RAM by apps……. so do your due research before shouting.
If you like windows phone then Lumia 710 is okay…….. but for an Android phone between Wildfire S and Ace Plus….. Ace Plus anyday.

I did not test the original Ace fully so cannot comment much on that but why are u even considering the old Ace model coz the Plus is such a better phone….. cost just 1 – 1.5K more than old Ace.

The Galaxy ace 2 is upgradeble to ICSwhen i ask someone at the samsung stand,he said:”ICS is available to phone with dualcore procesor and 1 Ghz (or more) singlecore”
As of now for this phone i.e Galaxy Ace Plus or even the more powerful Galaxy S Plus Samsung has not announced that they will get ICS update….. most of the their dual core phones are going to get ICS update… BTW Galaxy Ace 2 is a dual core phone but not this Ace plus.

I don’t know from what you got your source…… but in mid Feb 2012 I got a list from a good source for all the phones that were going to the ICS update from Samsung and this phone was not on the list in fact even the Galaxy S Plus which has a 1.4 Ghz processor was not on the update list……
The S Plus is much superior with SAMOLED and higher res screen but no flash again it’s also quite a lot more in price compared to Ace Plus….. If u have the budget for S Plus go for that else for a budget this Ace plus is good.

@TAMOTAYAKA its propably beacuse of that its older architecture cpu (armv6) , low resolution and weak gpu. that phone is good for call sms and facebook not for super hyper full hd 3d games and ics

there is ace,ace plus,ace duos and ace 2. ace plus has 512 ram,armv7 processor,1ghz processor,adreno 200, hvga resolution and has the latest flash player that can play video on any browsers and sites.the touch is smooth but the battery of ace is better than ace plus

@sDL4EveRmaRs: The Ace 2 has not yet been launched here so I do not know the price, but I have a strong feeling that it would be priced a bit higher than the Ace Plus coz the Ace 2 is a dual-core phone and also has a higher resolution screen.

It is worth of buying it if u wanna feel how android is, but if it is not your first Android Phone, I think u should wait for better phones.It is not worth of buying it, coz it hasn’t got many upgrades and if u wanna root, you wont be able to flash a rom coz it hasn’t got any.

This model does not have the front facing camera, that is the proximity sensor.

Galaxy S plus any day is a superior phone compared to Ace Plus I have also done a in-depth review of the same, so you can check that for more info.

Definitely W with the same chipset (1.4GHz processor with Adreno 205 GPU) found in the S Plus. It only around $250-$300 in my country.

Technically speaking I would say the Defy+ is a superior and a much better build phone compared to Ace+ but some of the Defy+ unit have the rebooting problem which worries me to recommend that phone.

Moto Motoluxe has a bigger higher res screen with a CPU that is incapable of running flash and also it’s ARM11 which means that the CPU is slow as fuck. Ace Plus has a crap resolution but supports flash and is Scorpion instead of ARM11 which is fast.

The Android OS and the UI (Touchiwiz) do take a big chunk of memory hence you will never find the full amount of RAM free in any android phone, in-fact its pretty good with this phone coz in some of the android phone that have 512 MB RAM only about 200 MB odd MB is freely available to the end user.

Great video! I’m thinking of buying this one but I’m worried about the display. Can you please tell me about the display? Is it really not up to the mark? I would not say the display is bad its actually very decent, no issues…. but the resolution of 480×320 in 2012 is a bit outdated, I was surprised that Samsung updated the hardware but did not update the screen res, I suggest u check the mobile first in person play around with it for a couple of minutes and then decide.

I would surely check out the phone in person if the shopkeeper allows.. Sometimes they don’t agree to show the actual piece and instead show a dummy one! What abt the video quality? As far as I recall this phone is not going to get the official ICS update by Samsung… it must be a minor s/w update.

I did not yet review the Sony Xperia U but that looks more elegant also if u can up your budget a little bit u can check HTC One V.

I do not understand what you meant by no apps, by default some of basic android apps should be there even if you do a factory reset, BTW to download apps just go to the Android Play store and download the apps that you need.

I know that Ace + is an android phone and lumia and omnia are windows phone. but they are having better hardware than the Ace +. Also Omnia is having Super Amoled Display but lumia is having Clear Black display. I am a Speed lover. So, which phone shud I consider buying. No I wont be able to make a video on HTC Desire HD coz its a very old and outdated model, also the main problem with Desire HD was very poor battery life, also pls check if that phone is going to get the ICS update or not.

yes you can buy buy 5830 undoubtedly if you are looking for mid range smart phone from samsung ……but the thing is ace is having 158 MB inbuilt memory and ace plus is having 3 GB inbuilt.
both are pretty good,better choose plus if have enough money………

@geekyranjit … hay Ranjit, i am confused between the Sony xperia P and the Samsung Galaxy S Advance… gaming will b my primary target, some web browsing over Wi-fi, and some movies also… SLCD or AMOLED actually doesn’t matter 2 me much… Which Phone do you suggest is better.????? i’l go for that only… Please Do reply… and if u don’t mind, can u do a video comparism between the 2 (Xperia P & Galaxy S Advance)…. it wl be the most helpful…Thank you!!!! by the way, Very nice review!!!
hi, ace plus does not have a front camera. neoV has.bot are android. better go for neo v.

Hi @geekyranjit,I have shortlisted Samsung Ace S5830 and Motorola Fire XT530. I want to decide between these two based on the battery performance and camera and audio/video playback capabilities. I do play games like angry birds. Can you suggest which one of the these two will be better? I had a motorola phone 5 yrs back but the hardware failure of it is stopping me from going for motorola phone, will this be an issue with the Motorola Fire XT530 ?

obviously the Galaxy S Plus as it much superior compared the the Ace plus, also look at the Galaxy S advance it is better than the two if budget is not a constraint.
