The latest version of Mac OS called Lion was launched on 20 July, 2011 which according to apple brings about 250 new features to the operating system, for upgrading to Lion you need to have the previous version of Mac OS X called Snow Leopard and use the App Store to download Lion It’s a 3.8 GB download, I have installed Lion on my Macbook Air and here are my initial impressions.

These days most of our internet service providers (ISP’s) even with their so called unlimited plans have a bandwidth cap / restriction and when you hit that cap your speed reduces drastically from say 4 or 2 Mbps to just 256 kbps which these ISP’s like to call Fair Usage Policy (FUP) which is painful so it makes sense to monitor how much internet bandwidth you are consuming.
