I got the iPad through the grey market early may this year so after using it on a daily basis for the last couple of months I have come to a conclusion that getting an iPad without it’s case is not the ideal experience.

Don’t get me wrong I love my ipad it’s the ideal device to consume content and till now there is no alternative device in the market that can give you the same rich experience compared to the iPad, but the iPad is sold bare bones with the ipad you just get a charger not even a pair of headphone or a cleaning cloth (the amount of smudges that the iPad gets it’s crazy).

The problem with using the iPad without a case is an disaster for your body there is no comfortable way to hold the same for extended periods of time, and to say the least it is an ergonomic disaster, the aluminum back hardly provides a comfortable grip to hold the iPad, I had used my iPad for over a month without an case and at times I often felt pain around my hands and at times also felt the fear of dropping it due to the poor grip hence I started to avoid using it for extended periods of time.

I did not get the official case for the iPad here in India, but bought a cheap knock off from eBay and believe me having a case with the iPad is a different experience in a good way.  Now with the case the iPad can stand on it’s own while watching videos, even when you are using in the portrait mode its much better to hold due to better grip  and you don’t get the strange feeling that the iPad is going to slip from your hands, strangely it might be my personal experience but the iPad doesn’t seem to weight much more due to the case may be coz of the case the weight of the iPad is getting evenly distributed.

So I say to apple please start giving free cases with the iPad as using one without is not a excellent apple experience and an ergonomic disaster for the users,  btw I have written this entire post on an iPad using the wordpress app for the iPad which I would not have bothered to do without the iPad case.
