Don’t get fooled when buying an intel processor

There is a confusion among consumer regarding the different generation of Core i processors ie. i3 / i5 / i7 and in this video I show you how to identify the different generations of intel chips so that you do not end up buying the previous generation intel core i processor.
Do remember to subscribe to my Youtube channel to be notified about my video updates tutorials and guides it’s free to subscribe!

@ruhulaminutube: You are mistaken it’s not like intel corporation is doing this but the sneaky retailers or stores who have old dead stock lying around and just if they figure out the customer is not that tech savvy they can sell these items to them, coz most of the time the end customer will not even know they got the last gen processor.
Simple LGA 1156 (Original Intel Core i) and LGA 1155 (2nd Gen Intel Core i)
The Ivybridge 3rd gen Core i is also LGA 1155 so now!
I know what you mean but I wasn’t just talking about Intel. Here in the UK, it’s quite common to see nationwide companies like for example ‘PC world’ taking advantage of unsususpecting customers. Selling them unnecessary software at extortionate prices and making them buy anti virus subscriptions that will long surpass the lifetime of the machine itself.
Ranjit can you suggest a best anti virus for my desktop
what should i get for gaming a ivy bridge i5 or i7……….. i want a i7 just to future proof my new pc with hyperthreading but don’t wanna spend the extra cash if it’s not really that worth it????
hey thanks for educating, nice info
u are right LGA # is just the socket number for the motherboard which guides us which cpu is compatible with the given motherboard, nice vid ranjit, hey i completely missed the details when i bought my rig in 2010, but like u said it was orig introduced then so i have 1st gen cpu
very imp tip, and very nice video, it ll really help me as i m upgrading my current rig, wow how could i miss these details? lol looks like i need to read more
Very very useful info….thumbsup for this
)
very useful info! thanks ranjit!
Thanks very helpful
I bought an Intel 4850k processor, however I couldn’t find any motherboards for it!
The title should have been “When buying “an” intel processor” instead of “when buying “a” intel processor”.
Good point, Indian hardware vendors often take consumers for a ride this way. BTW my advice for anyone looking to buy a new PC is to wait until May for Ivy-Bridge. Performance gains are just 10%, but power gains are pretty good. Not to mention a good GPU (HD 4000) for light video decoding or light games all this for more and less the same price.
Make sure you buy the unlocked “k” version of the chips regardless of i5 or i7. Those will enable overclocking not the pointless slow capped sh*t produced by intel. Intel should produce all chips as their K variations and user can either use the standard clocks or overclock if they wish to.
Its very helpfull
Sarvesh motihariStupid ass! geeky rajit is doing an exemplary job in clarifying doubts and you shit hole are correcting his grammar. Keep your idiotic grammatical knowledge stuffed in you and let this great guy do his job. Great job ranjit there’s no substitute to your experience and knowledge.
Amazing video! It was really very helpfull for me as i was planning to build a new pc i was confused about which processor i opt for.I was confused between i5 650 and 2500k but my doubts are cleared now. Thanks!
i have an intel i3 – 350 M …….it did buy my laptop before 1 and half – 2 yearsnow is it the first original processor or a sandy bridge
First generation
An Intel !?!
no dude its LGA 2011
@portal2tech: Before contradicting me pls check your sources….. the LGA 2011 is intel Extreme processor & you can currently purchase Sandybridge E processor which are on LGA 2011 socket and use X79 based motherboards….. the Ivybridge Extreme will also be LGA 2011 but the standard i3/i5/i7 Ivybridge will be LGA 1155 hence if you have an existing motherboard for Sandybridge like Z68 you can just pop in a Ivybridge chip.
Very much informative and helpful. Thanks for sharing
There’s no such i series processor which starts with “4″
Please HELP! My laptop has a virus called JetSwap SafeSearch since a week and I have NO idea how I can remove it.I had been using ESET Antivirus till I changed over to AVG Yesterday. Still no respite, its still propping up… Waiting for reply. Pls Help.

Try Microsoft security essentials. If that does not work. Back up your important files and factory reset your device.

thank you sir !
good good information.
@jarvi5albert In the future it will be? The 4th generation of intel proccessor
AMDs no better man you remember the AM2 to 939 transition? they all had identical names, other than the x2 in the front which I mistook for dual core.
thank you, please come again
Lokk at the gen brand name and don’t be a fool?
actually the first intel core i3,i5,i7 were launched in nov.,2008 under the codename nehalem.

no it is LGA 1155. dumb ass
Yes, Ass Hole the LGA 1155 as well as LGA 2011 both support Ivy Bridge, at the time of comment I didnt knew whether LGA 1155 supported Ivy Bridge CPU’s
as for contradicting !! at the time of comment…I only knew that LGA 2011 supported the Ivy Bridge processors…so I just sticked to it !! but when you said that LGA 1155 also supports 3rd Gen Processors….I Checked it …..You Know Mistakes Happen !! like this asshole@kirtpincott
You have a 1st gen
either way, u contradicted him, but in the end we all learned something so i guess that’s a positive
keep searching the internet on another device and you should find a website to help you
yea yea !
Thumbs up for cool Indian accent!
the first thing that came to my mind seeing this video is “kissing gourami”… Wonder what made me think that !!!
Halt . dont blindly go for more mem , it depends on your gfz cards capacity if you buy a GT 9800 with 2 TB memory you STILL WONT GET GOOD RESULTS , TELL ME YOUR BUDGET AND ILL SUGGEST A GOOD GFZ CARD FOR YOU
*an Intel

eh’ sites generally label them properly anyways.
New egg for example will List the architecture name so if you’re new you get to read.
“Sandy bridge”, “Clark dale” (or 1st gen) and “Ivy bridge” aka Gen 3.

Good explanation from the commentator
your accent..
Dude! the only one confused on this Intel Processor is YOU,I will recommend that you go to a a Adult school and take some ESL classes(English As a Second Language),your accent is too strong and you speak too fastI understood just 25% of what you were saying or trying to explain. so thumb down for this video. period
Your English is fine, I understood you perfectly but I’m not American which says a lot lol
No, I have a i5 3570k and it’s Ivy Bridge architecture and LGA 1155.
Dude! I think you should go to school. Any school. It doesn’t really matter but I’m sure you’ll benefit. I’m English and I understood him just fine. Maybe you should travel a little bit. Broaden your horizons. Get out of your cocoon.
So thumb down for your post. period
PS you write ‘period’ but refuse to use it at the nd of a sentence. Scratch what I said and go (back??) to school for English as a FIRST language.

what? que? MMM CAN U REPEAT WHAT U SAID TROLOLOLO
AND it unlocks PCI 3.0 Express Bus @ 8GT/S if you get a higher end Mobo.
Damn man, with that accent you need to slow the hell down, and forget looking for serial numbers, they label the boxes for dummies.
He doesn’t talk fast lol its Americans who can’t understand fast talking . No offence just saying
Hey dude. Thanks! Very helpful. Team MyProds.com 2 thumbs up for you.

Can i use ivy Bridge with H61 Motherboards?
Can i use ivy Bridge with H61 Motherboards?
Is the intel i7-2630QM better than the i7-2670QM ? They are options on the Asus N53SN.
i want to buy a intel i5 processor, which processor is the best ,some people suggested me that intel i5 3570k processor is best is that true
well what are you going to do? play video games? Video editing?
well what are you going to do? play video games? Video editing?
I Play Video Games
well if all your going to do is game then yes an i5 3570k would be a great match for that (i have one myself) as for the i7 its a just a little faster(the i5 can reach to an i7 of you overclock it) but there is a 100$ difference. So go with an i5.
informative video. i knew this, but only after 2 weeks of ivestigation. to bad i dint find this sooner.
core i7 3610QM or More, it’s much more powerful.
Faust rather than buy Asus N53SN you should buy Asus N56VZ.
Thank you very much:)
Very informative. *Tip* (Drop the “casually”, it can get a little obnoxious) But great video nonetheless.
Lol, does anyone need this video haha? your videos are great man, but who can be stupid enough to spend hundreds of dollars and not do this simple research, i am not trying to be mean to your cousin, but come on…… in india that might cost thousands of rupees. really…… how can someone not do hours of research? so i don’t think this video is necesary for the kind of people viewing your channel.
I am not sure about you prefixes. Intel 3930K/3960X has a prefix of “3″ but at the same time they are not ivybridge processors. They are sandybridge, LGA 2011 processors. Please make me correct if i am lacking with some info.
They aren’t Ivy Bridge processors, you are correct there but they are not regular Sandybridge processors either. They are Sandybridge-E (‘E’ standing for Extreme) and are all flagship hex core multi-threaded processors.
That makes sense. Thanks.
You’re welcome mate.
No it isn’t SandyBridge-E is the LGA 2011 chipset. Ivybridge is LGA1155 still but most boards that are useful for overclockers at Z77 boards rather than the older Z68 boards that were around for the 2500k and 2700k processors.
Do you think that this laptop is worth the money? I want to get a laptop but i want to make sure that it is either a i5 or i7 for video editing and gaming. Thank you
Toshiba Satellite L855 Intel Core i7-3630QM 3.4GHz
it is from costco. com and is $650
What?!
It likely wasn’t even the retailer’s fault. Most likely, it was the person who built the computer (since the person being referred to obviously didn’t build it themselves). Reputable retailers mark down old generation hardware, which many people genuinely want and buy (for a lower price). There’s nothing wrong with this at all, as the hardware isn’t defective or obsolete just because something 15% faster has been released.
I eat curry and I’m white.. What does it matter?
its not the fault of intel as the processor model # itself carries the generation it belongs to but i consider the fault of the person and the retailer. People in india are looted if they dont have any information about the product they are buying but on the other hand the buyer should have some information.
good man !!
i don’t mind buying sandybridge now, as ivey bridge runns hott like hell. with a 4.3% increase in performance lol
lol curry is delicious
Bro I’ve had an i5 760 and i3 540 running like JET’s !!
Allso I’ve got adter the i5 2320 & 2500 and these were worse than previou generation in terms of WEB performance multitasking and flash content !!!
The first generation 750-760 were the best !!!
I wish I could find some of these now !!!
what an asshole you get you pay for sandy bridge and ivy bridge are more expensive
Intel FTW !
the diference is just 10% in performance and only in power you can say that you wine a litlle.
) i know because i have one.
The first generation is just 10% less then the new ivy brige and = whit sandy brige.
More then that , the new i5 are celerons overcloaked.
That would be the 3970X when it comes to desktop performance.
there is really little price difference in between 1st and second (even 3rd) generation core processors, plus there are chipsets which require a much modern processor.
fooled? who’s gotten fooled? dont blame the branding if you bought the wrong item.
Is his foul for don’t specify also there is a tow type of core i5. there is a dual core with hyper
treading and a quad core. i have seen many offices getting core i5 but they get the 650
that one is a dual core with HT.
exactly, they put for example: “i5 2500k” or “3570k” show which generation in the first digit
wtf is he on about intel are the best gaming cpu,s and for hardcore multi tasking .he just doesn’t like it coz it costs more then fkn AMD . cheap indian
you must be fkn deaf or something.
I think you completely missed the point you sped.
I would say this is a problem for computer novices. If you are this uninformed, why are you getting a custom computer in the first place?
I find it cool as well. They sound like always asking question because of their rising intonation in every sentence.
Am I the only one that is bothered by the title, a intel instead of an?
lol … i wonder if u watch this video or understand wht he said .. he just just solving d confusion between 2nd or 3rd gen intel processor … @stefi326 what r u talking abt AMD he even dont say AMD u fool
very good example for 2nd & 3rd gen intel processors
I always use to pick up ladies in the bar.
Pwnage video
So… I’m getting you didn’t watch the video?
Are you going to eat me uncle?
I am sorry to say that, but somebody who decides to build own computer must also prepare himself and check if all parts match. Still, good awareness video.
dont forget 1st gen i3,5,7 cpus are socket 1156 2nd and 3rd gen are socket 1155 and 4th gen will be socket 1150 so you will need a new motherboard for the 4th gen cpus, also currently on 4th gen there are no i3 cpu’s.
hahahah
shut the fuck up damn butthurt fanboy.
shut up black dog go back to Africa where u came from
no. you shut the fuck up you stupid rasict son of a fucking bitch. By the way, im from Canada dumbass
ohhh…. how sweet. so much racist comments. I love all you racists. I hope we all meet in hell… <3
Ok, firstly, this is your cousins fault, he didn’t consent asking which i5 processor did he?Secondly, you should have recommended him one, such as the i5 3570k that’s a nice processor for a good price. So the only fool here is your ‘distant’ cousin…
3970x
yep, i almost bought a pc with a 1st gen 3digit i7 processor. the thing was $400, looks like a good deal, huh…nope.
HE IS RIGHT
Watch the video. He’s only explaining that there is confusion of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation processors.
WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE MAKE SOME STUPID STATEMENT
Love your accent man!
Im looking at upgrading my motherboard. After much fluffing around on the net looking at model numbers i realised i couldn’t use my i5 760 cpu in a current 1155 socket So im going to have to buy a new CPU as well (insert sad face here cause i have to spend extra). I am however glad i watched this video. It confirmed my findings.
Africa? Hes Indian you fucking sad racist moron.
mine core 2 quad q8300@2.5ghz that i got in 2012 is more than enough for gaming…….at that first gen i3 nd i5 processor were their but they were expensive nd my computer dealer who builds assembled pc didnt had i3 or i5
Thanx for the Tip!!!
Thanx for the Tip!!!
if you just go out to buy a “i5″ for your PC, you should get help from that “computer freak-friend” everybody has, to help you. Me myself, i just dont see the “i5″, “i7″, or “iWhatever”, i search for a model number, first, the four digit code, and then the leter. It’s like blaming ATI for naming their Graphic Cards “Radeon”, it just doesn’t makes sense to blame then.
You make a valid point and good adive, but it’s Intel’s fault for not making this more clear. The average consumer will have no clue that there even is a difference.
He reminds me of Rahj from big bang theory.
He reminds me of Rahj from big bang theory.
Reminds me of how theres so many stupid people out there who say “i7 is better than an i5″. Bunch of idiots who don’t even know what they’re talking about.
well the i7 is better then the i5 lol. in every way the i7 is better. If your only playing games then no, becuase for $100 + then the i5 your only really getting a few extra frames, but for video editing, 3d rendering, multitasking, and photo manipulation, most i7′s like the 3770k, 3930k, 2700k will preform much faster then say, a 3570k. But yes for gaming, there is not much of an advantage of spending extra money for a i7. save your cash on the cpu and get a better gpu.
An older i7 is worse than a lot of the new i5s. So no, you can’t just say an i7 is better than an i5.
his accent is so hardcore it sounds like hes speaking a different language for like half the video
What about gaming and streaming, 3570k or 3770k?
@RepentForTheSinner well, you will notice a difference upgrading to the 3770k, simply becuase it has more threads. But, im not sure how much o difference your going to get. Streaming mainly depends on your gpu and internet speed, so make sure you have a fast connection + gpu.
i have the original i3… and its a fuckin’ boss
Nice video. Thanks for the heads up.
Everybody knows that man…………..
Clearly not since 300 people liked the video…
is it good or bad ?
its funny how the camera hes recording with is probably over $2000
your a retard ahhh please get the fuck of youtube and kill your self
Sounds like dodgy retailers to me. Its not really Intel’s fault. If you walked into a car dealership and asked for an BMW 320D, and they sold you a 2000 model for the price of a brand new 320D, you wouldn’t blame BMW for using the same model name.
cant understand shit
FUCK INTEL !!!!
Every Indian I have met was very nice to me.
Next time his cousin will casually ask which laptop he should buy and he will casually say go with the MacBook Pro.
And when he”ll check specs then BooM!! It’s without Ratina Display!!!!
And here comes his new video!!
this guy sounds like from dells tech support lol
It depends on which Intel CPU model you buy, AMD Cpus are amazing and so are Intels.
There is noting confusing about the names . Just do a little bit of research before you buy them its really not that hard to distinguish the different model names.
Your comment deserves a like.
every one know this not every one is fool like your brother
there’s nothing confusing about them, i use the model number e.g 3570k or 3770 or 3970x, just don’t be a idiot
so hot.;)
what a retard! I mean you are a fat gay ass racist.. just watch the f’in video.. He tells an important difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen.. he was telling to be careful of which one you are buying! you lazyass
we all like Intel.. AMD for noobs
Guys.. never go For AMD.. even if you want a low cost cpu.. go for Pentium G.. they sound like pentium 4s :p but trust me they are faster than phenom II x4s in gaming ;D
Nice grammar… “a intel” ???
Seems to me your brother should’ve bought his CPU from Newegg instead of some mom and pop store.
This isn’t Intel’s fault, it’s who built his computer.
you are… INDIAN!!
sure the old amd cpu’s arent that great but the amd fx cpu’s are really good especially for the price. i have an fx 6300 6-core overclocked to 4.5 GHz which is pretty good. Not as great as intel but pretty close.
for just sufin mostly but occasionally games like crysis scyrim is there really gonna be a noticeable difference between lets say an i7 930 vs 2500k or 3550???
you’re a fucking retard…
