I brought Belkin Router Modem and the very next Day it stopped working.I never experienced this kind of worse support from Accel in such a way that I got the replacement after 10 days by shouting and escalating. Please dont go for belkin if you want good support and performence

Janardhan if you look closely the router you purchased and the one I reviewed is completely different, you purchased a N+ dual band router and the one I reviewed is not a dual-band router or a ADSL model.

The performance of a router changes from model to model.

Cheers,
Ranjit

I bought N+N300 router+adsl modem from belkin - and found it is very useless. Wireless range is hopelessly poor. It is most expensive of all their models. I am very disappointed to buy this one. signal strength is 0 (both 2.4ghz and 5) at the distance of 20 ft and unable to connect ipad or smartphone unless I move closure to it. It is no different from the cheapest routers from beetel that I used. My main purpose was to get good wireless range and this did not help.

Ranjit,

Thanks for the information shared.

budget of Rs. 2000 is ok for me but only thing which is going on in my mind is buying a wireless router from outside and attaching it to the adsl router which i already have, will triband support the technicality. I hope it wont give me any problems later on cause if i buy one router from outside and what if it does not support then it would be a waste for me.

i have seen some belkin router's and linksys too... i think its the belkin N+

Hey Siddhartha

For a 1200 sq ft house any WIFI router should be good enough, I am against the MTNL / BSNL routers as they are cheap chineese routers and there throughput is not that good.

If you are on a budget go for a 'G' based router good brands are linksys belkin and netgear for around Rs 2000 you should get a good one, but if you want a good 'N' based router one of the cheap routers are good and you would have to spend above 5000 to get a good dual band router.

Even the one that I have review on this page Belkin N+ Wireless Router is not that great coz buggy firmware and this one doesn't support open firmware like ddwrt again if you are a geek or an enthusiast go for a router that supports open firmware like tommato or ddwrt.

Dear Ranjit,

Thanks for the information shared.
I am using the mtnl triband connection which has a adsl modem. what i understand from your reviews is that this belkin is just a wireless modem and it has to be connected to the adsl modem.

my question to you here is that is

1. Is it advisable to buy a wireless modem from mtnl itself?

2. Does belkin have any router which has adsl and wireless linked to it?

3. How good is the network strength if it has to be used in a 1200 sq.ft house or if there is any other you could please help?

4. How to choose a wireless router? and lastly

5. Whats the price of this wireless router?

Waiting to hear from you soon.

Hi Vinay,

This router is just a plain Wifi N router it should be used with a ADSL / Cable modem, a EV-DO modem cannot be directly attached to this router.
