Mid range gaming PC for Rs 55K Jan 2012
I do get a lot of request of gaming setup guide and here I post a mid-range gaming setup PC for Rs 55,000 about US $1,000 with this gaming with this gaming PC you would be able to play all the latest 3D games at full HD resolution while setting the graphic setting to high.
If you just want a normal powerful PC for everyday computing tasks and you do not do much gaming you can just remove the graphic card from the config, the built in graphic support on the i5 chip will kick in and is more than enough for normal desktop work (non-gaming) and you have a pretty powerful PC that should be able to handle any task you throw at the same.

@lazimofo90: Jumping from 6870 to 6970 would make much more sense than going with 6950 in terms of performance but with our budget the 6970 is not feasible hence 6870 is a better point in our budget.
hey geekyranjit,i want to build a hackintosh using amd stuff instead of intel. i have already selected my stuff, and i hope it is all compatible. do you mind checking to see if my setup would work. and i know that it is harder to build an amd hackintosh, but i think it is possible. i just want to make sure i can do it before i buy the parts. can i send you my parts by email?thanks
I disagree with you ranj 6950′s go pretty cheap right now ive seen a 2gb 6950 for 220$ whereas the 6970 is almost 100$ more and gives about 10% more performance.plus you can unlock the shaders on a 6950 to get 6970 performance
Can you pm me………
sholud i get a water coolant
@TimothyAaronJones: The guide I follow for hackintosh is only compatible with intel CPU’s not AMD ones sorry.
@allcoolnohot: If you are seeing that your CPU temp are frequently going above 60 C then sure…… I personally have a i7 and it used to go above 65 C on load added a CPU air cooler CM Hyper 212+ and now it never goes above 55 C even on full load, I had made a video about Hyper 212+
@geekyranjit ok thanks man, but isn’t there a way to do it with amd processors?
hey nice suggestions, also ur prev 30 k list was damn good, actually i have been using that rig and experience has been great so far only bottleneck is the hard drive response time for which i think i ll be soon upgrading to an ssd, u are right about ssd, i would like to add here is keep os on an ssd and other stuff on regular drives, the system ll handle pretty much all possible cpu+gpu intensive stuff
yeah man these days equipment prices are all time high, dont know when will the rupee rate come to an even level, it really messed up my budget in that most equiments i had on my list automatically became 15 % more expensive
as far as the gpu and the processor goes… i love them both… they coincide with my choices as well…:)))
Hi Ranjeet, please make a video on AMD based gaming PC config for Rs 50,000.
@vasoo101: Right now making a high end gaming rig on a AMD solution is a bad idea…. coz none of their chips even match i5 in performance / power consumption etc let alone i7.
@geekyranjit Okay,so please explain why AMD processors don’t offer performance like Intel ones
@vasoo101: Hard to explain in 450 characters limit….. It’s just that AMD CPU are not as efficient per clock as the new intel parts also AMD parts consumer a lot more power for the same work…. the gap is just going to increase with the upcoming intel ivy bridge processors…… which are even more power efficient than the current sandy bridge parts… had high hopes for AMD Bulldozer but those processors are just not that good right now….. and intel is way ahead right now.
@rudalvi First of all, dont try to make Ranjit stand against me.Now, you said that he is a respectable geek, yes thats true, but the way you said that your ASUS pronunciation isn’t clear just showed that you are actually trying to put him down. Thats how you respect people.
@Zqosh Don’t worry I not not against u or anybody I appreciate that you are trying to defending me….. but please don’t use bad words here against other users…. I do not bother about trolls that try to make smart-ass comments and stuff about accent etc, I try to help all of you guys while making these videos hoping that u guys can benefit from them and quite a few of u thank me for that…. regarding trolls and smart asses I don’t care about them and hence I do not argue with them.
Can u do a review on the New Tikona 4G?
@ying111111111: There is nothing 4G to Tikona it’s just a marketing moniker they have the service here in Hyderabad was not good….. they used to advertise a lot about 6 months ago but not to be heard for now…. BTW I won’t be reviewing them.
@geekyranjitYes Ranjit, you are absolutely right. We should not argue on these stupid matters or even should not care on those stupid comments.
@geekyranjitby the way, this was again a great video.
And yes, congratulation for having 2000+ Subscribers.
@Zqosh: thanks
can you go cheaper :S ?
dammit.. 55k is too much for me.
@kkchance so get a gtx 560 (non ti) or hd 6770
what about this memory G.Skill DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 RipjawsX? good one for gaming rig?
@buzz9961: Yep
@geekyranjit or sould i get corsair vengence 1600mhz or kingston hyperx 1600mhz?
@geekyranjit should i wait for ivybridge processors and gtx 600 series graphics please reply tq in advance
What GPU would go with my i5 2500k and 8GB ram and asus p8p67 motherboard to play games like minecraft, xplanes etc?
Great Video!
@buzz9961 k.will do tht.. i guess. thanks

very nice video thanks for it
sir plz tell me that if i choose intel core i3-2100 and intel dz68db desktop board and Geforce gtx 560 ti WILL it be to play all games at higher resolution without any strain sir plz tell me it is very important
@johnsmit230: Nope with i3 I would not go above Nvidia 550 coz with 560 and above graphics cards you would need a better processor for optimal high performance gaming so a processor like an i5 is recommended.
thanks sir i appreciate your comment and quick response thank you very much and when will the price of hard disk or HHD will decrease in india can you plz tell
@johnsmit230: It will take at-least 6 more months more for the pricing of HDD to come down but it might be 2013 before they come back to the early 2011 levels.
Thanks sir again
HI need to make a i7 2600k gaming pc (i have 24 gb ram corsair vengeanceand 1tb x3 = 3 tb hdd and kingston ssd 64gb x2corsair h100 cpu cooler ) this stuff i have i need other part i need help to get mother board ,psu ,and gpu ati or nvidia sli or cfi have LG 3d led plz help me sir
I like your the system, but I’d rather save money and go with a Gigabyte GTX560 OC ($175US w/rebate), $50 mid ATX case (many available), OCZ 700WModstream PSU ($60 w/rebate), and use the savings for a OCZ 60gb Agility 3 SSD for SRT with Z68 mobo. I run BF3 on high with 40+ FPS. Also, a good quality keyboard (Corsair K90) and gaming mouse (Rat 7 or Corsair M60) is very important to play your best! 700W should be able for future SLI since these components use less energy these days.
ignore the guys comment you can easily run i3 with a gtx 560ti….most games only need 2 cores and are graphic card bound any way so this set up is fine….if you dont beilve me do a quick google

thanks cyberboy109 for helping me out than why geeky ranjit is telling Nope with i3 I would not go above Nvidia 550 but thanks for your reply cyberboy109 it helped me a lot
I allways thought 6870 was a little higher than mid range.
what about this motherboard? msi z68a g45 gen3
@buzz9961: Looks good but Pls check on the new for reviews regarding the same coz I am in no position to check or test every motherboard available.
@geekyranjit ok tanks.but i dont find reviews on this motherboard avrywhere
I agree with mid gaming pc. Having the hoghest end is dumb reason being is because theres allways gnna be a new one in like 6 months
amd bulldozer 8150 is better than intel i5
can you get a build with an amd one because amd is cheaper than intel and it has got value for money
@jayrodge1 not totally in some cases even the i3 2100 can beat the amd 8150 in games

1600 mhz wont help in overclocking cause even though its a k model the multiplier cannot be increased a lot
@geekyranjit 1600 mhz wont help in overclocking cause even though its a k model the multiplier cannot be increased a lot
your pc will cost more than 65000 after adding monitor cost.motherboard is very costly for such processor.cabinate is very costly in your configuration.you didnt add ups price, keyboard and mouse monitor price, dvd drive.
here is my configuration and i am using this currently—

Total Rs. 55,575
@abhinavpant: I never include the monitor keyboard etc in my configs… do you realize I use the 2500K processor and the Z68 based motherboard due to a reason….. you can do overclocking in the near future so it might help extend the life of the machine and also use virtu for graphics and on a later stage also use intel SRT by using a small SSD as a cache… and that will boost the overall performance of the machine.
I put a lot of thought when putting out a config for a given price point, I agree can go with a cheaper cabinet but there are a lot of benefits of a higher grade cabinets….. lower noise levels….. better air flow etc to keep the entire machine cooler…. but I wont argue with you.
@geekyranjit-if people dont want to overclock, den they can go with the very much cheaper H67 chipset!!!!! y go for a z68????????
Q and A: I have a budget of about 15k, should I go for a GTX 560 ti(1GB) or an Ati HD 6950 (1GB)? Also I’ve heard that XFX cards are bad quality, can you suggest a good brand? If I have 2 grand to spare, should I go for the MSI GTX 560 ti twin frozr 2 (2GB)?
PS: I want to play games on ultra at 1080p. Thanks
@geekyranjit : is cooler master 460W PSU sufficient for this configuration i.e intel i5 2500k + asus p8z68 v-pro + nvidia gts450…please reply…thanks
@moneywater: Yes a 450 Watt SMPS would be okay….. but why are u going with Cooler master for SMPS they make great cabinets but for SMPS I would look at Corsair, Antec, Sesonic etc.
: coz i already have it.. thanks for the reply
@geekyranjit : coz i already have it.. thanks for the reply
i would recommend atleast of 600w psu for a gamin pc!(for those who make an sli or crossfire get a 850w)
intel with nvidia setup sux. its way to expensive. go for AMD with ATI Radeon for the best bang for your buck. ATI Radeon owns
another question sir:is an core 2 duo great for gaming?second:is an core 2 quad like a i5 or is the i5 betterThx plz reply fast
Don’t get a core2duo now it a very old chip, between the core 2 quad and the i5, the i5 wins hands down.
I m planning to buy a pc very soon. I will be mostly using this for office works but at the samtime i need the pc to work for my entertainment needs too. My budget is from 30-40K but i wouldn’t mind if the price is slightly plus or minus. I will be using the pc for a minimum of 10 hrs a day. So pls do advice me for a best configured pc with keeping my above needs in mind. I will really appreciate for a pronto advice. thank u.
How does it win hands down if the i5 he gets only has 2 cores?
The desktop variants of i5 are quad core processor (dedicated 4 cores) not hyper-threadding…. and any day beats the core2quad coz I have both, the i5 is also a technically a superior and a more efficient processor coz its based the current generation Core i Sandybridge, whereas the core2quad is a couple of generations old.
I was thinking back almost a year where the i5′s came in dual and quad options.
Indians mee to
intel+nvidia is a great combination & it might be expensive due to the physx and quda tech its a little bit expensive and check out the benchmarks of the games u get better fps on gtx cards rather than an radeon cards
i5 2500k, 4GB Corsair DDR3, 1TB Seagate, GTX 570, motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro,cooling: Coolmaster HAF912, Corsair 800W, Benq LED 24′costed me around 72,000Rs from nehru place delhi…i already had other things bought in june 2011
This can run any game on Max not high Max. Cuz i haz it
Yep this config is for mid-range if you want to play all games at Max setting go for a higher spec card like Nvidia 580 or if u can go 680 it’s a beast, but again u would need to add a slightly higher wattage PSU for that.
ewwww is he talkin english?? :\
can u suggest me graphic card for 5000-6000 Rupees and supports DDR3 .(NVIDIA)
There’s no such card that can play full hd @ max settings for a mid range gaming pc
Heyya Ranjit any Gaming Hackintosh Building!!?
make a high end gaming system plz
Racist.
wats racist about his language??
can u tell me what is an ssd?
solid state drive
solid state drive
i haven’t asked about the full form of ssd… i have asked about the function or need of an ssd…
i haven’t asked about the full form of ssd… i have asked about the function or need of an ssd…
just google it then.. lol
just google it then.. lol
It’s good, because it’s solid, “Solid state drive” or SSD. It’s solid so better then hard. Trust me.
don’t give advice if u don’t know the meaning…. Remain silent…
A SSD is way faster than a normal HDD coz it there are no moving components in that think of it as a bunch of flash memory chips typical a SSD would be about 3x – 5x faster and in some cases 10x performance is also achieved, also the computer would boot and launch apps a lot faster with SSD to get an idea see check this video I made earlier /watch?v=X2QDr41pXlA
Then why can i do it? Of course its like 25 to 34 frames and no AA on bf3 and a lot of other games (i sad any game as a figure of speech i didn’t mean it literally. Such as games like bf3or crysis 1 or2 and stuff like that but not minecraft
thank u very much!!!
