Carbon Copy Cloner is a free application for the Mac by which you can easily clone your Mac HDD’s and I feel is a must have app if you plan to do major upgrades to your Macintosh or install a new Operating System and it’s very easy to use.

The latest version of Mac OS called Lion was launched on 20 July, 2011 which according to apple brings about 250 new features to the operating system, for upgrading to Lion you need to have the previous version of Mac OS X called Snow Leopard and use the App Store to download Lion It’s a 3.8 GB download, I have installed Lion on my Macbook Air and here are my initial impressions.

It looks like apple is soon going to update Macbook Air’s and the announcement could be made during the apple WWDC 2011 that start on 6th June where the next upcoming Operating System by apple known as OS X Lion would will also be announced.

Every Mac comes pre-installed with QuickTime X which is the standard media player for the Mac and it is pretty good but the problem with Quicktime is that it can only play back a few video formats out of the box here comes the MPlayerX which fills in the gap.
